Biographical statement
Dr. Soltanian-Zadeh is a biomedical engineer and senior scientist at Henry Ford. As the leader of the medical image analysis laboratory, Dr. Soltanian-Zadeh directs research projects in the Departments of Research Administration and Radiology. He has research collaborations with Wayne State University, Michigan State University and international academic institutions.
He has been a full professor and co-founder of the Control and Intelligent Processing Center of Excellence (CIPCE) in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Tehran. He has supervised or advised more than 200 MS theses or PhD dissertations and coauthored more than 800 articles in journals, conferences and books.
He has served on the scientific committees of national and international conferences and the review boards of scientific journals. Dr. Soltanian-Zadeh has been an associate member of the Iranian Academy of Sciences, past-president of the Iranian Society of Machine Vision and Image Processing, past-chair of the IEEE Iran Section, has been recognized as an outstanding researcher by national and international organizations, and has served on the study sections of the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the American Institute of Biological Sciences and international funding agencies.
