About Me
Biographical Statement
I received my training at UMH-Sparrow/Michigan State University's Pediatric Residency Program, where my residency experience has shaped both my approach to medicine and my vision for the kind of pediatrician I hope to become. As Chief Resident of Didactics at UMH Sparrow/MSU, I also had the opportunity to combine my passion for clinical care with my interests in education, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
My path to Pediatrics has been enriched by broad clinical experiences across the United States, United Kingdom, and Pakistan. These diverse settings have taught me to adapt to different healthcare environments, recognize the importance of cultural context in patient care, and approach each family with empathy and an open mind. My experiences in pediatric emergency care, mental health, oncology, and general pediatrics have further developed my clinical skills and reinforced my belief that caring for a child extends beyond treating an illness. It involves understanding the child's development, family, environment, and overall well-being.
I have developed particular interests in preventive medicine, early childhood development, and behavioral pediatrics. I enjoy helping families navigate the many stages of childhood and empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need to support their children's health and development. My involvement in community outreach, telehealth, health advocacy, and mental health education has further deepened my interest in improving access to care and addressing the broader factors that influence children's health.
Care Philosophy
Pediatrics is a calling for me, shaped by the loss of two younger brothers to an undiagnosed illness and the compassionate physicians who supported my family. I partner with parents, listen to their concerns and offer clear, evidence-based guidance so they feel confident in their child's care. It is a privilege to build lasting relationships with families and help every child thrive.
