Jing Zhang, PhD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Jing Zhang is a research associate in the Department of Neurology at Henry Ford Health whose research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of brain injury and recovery following stroke and other neurological disorders. Her work integrates advanced neuroimaging, molecular biology and translational neuroscience to identify therapeutic strategies that promote brain repair and improve functional outcomes.

Dr. Zhang earned her doctoral degree in neuroscience and has developed extensive expertise in experimental stroke research, neurovascular biology and regenerative medicine. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams investigating neuroprotection, neuroplasticity and the biological processes that influence recovery after neurological injury. Her research combines laboratory-based discovery with translational approaches aimed at accelerating the development of new treatments for patients with neurological disease.

As a scientist at Henry Ford Health, Dr. Zhang has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributed to advancing the understanding of stroke pathophysiology, white matter injury and mechanisms of neural regeneration. Her work seeks to translate scientific discoveries into innovative therapies that enhance recovery, improve quality of life and reduce the burden of neurological disease.
