Adam Martinez, BSN, RN

Adam Martinez, BSN, RN
Henry Ford Hospital Detroit  
Adam graduated with his associates degree from Wayne County Community College District in 2018 and his BSN from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2019. Adam spent nine years in a level one trauma center ER at Henry Ford Hospital as an ER tech and finishing as a nurse manager. Most recently, Adam worked in sports medicine and orthopedics and looks forward to using his knowledge to contribute to the injury prevention team.

Kaitlin Morgan, BSN, RN

Henry Ford St. John Hospital Detroit 
Kaitlin completed her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at Capella University and Master's of Science in Nursing at Oakland University. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout her nursing career, with trauma always being her passion. She is the Injury Prevention Coordinator at Henry Ford St. John Hospital, an ACS verified and State designated Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, in Wayne County Michigan. She is currently a technician for AARP’s Carfit and Stop the Bleed Instructor.

Katie Watson, BSN, RN

Katie completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Jackson College in 2014, and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from University of Michigan in 2019. Her nursing experience includes emergency, home care, nursing education, long term acute care and perioperative services. She enjoys working in injury prevention because she can connect with individuals and communities to encourage health, wellness and safety.

Vanesa Mier, BSN, RN, HNB-BC

Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Oakland University. Since 2018, she has been the Injury Prevention Specialist at Henry Ford Providence Novi & Southfield Hospitals, an ACS verified and State designated Level II Adult Trauma Center. In 2019, she was awarded a Nightingale Award for Excellence in the Community. She is also the Coalition Coordinator for Safe Kids Oakland County and manages the Trauma Center’s Injury & Violence Prevention Program.

Nicole Matthews, BSN, RN

Nicole became a Registered Nurse in 2011 and will complete her Master's of Science (MSN) in Forensic Nursing by 2025. She has a great interest and passion for sharing programs to advance community risk reduction. Inspired by her trauma patients, Nicole has acquired twelve certifications to help teach and facilitate safety programs and to share trauma and injury prevention.

Vanessa Wargosie, BSN, RN

Vanessa Wargosie, BSN, RN

Vanessa is a Trauma Coordinator who also works in collaboration for Henry Ford Health Wyandotte’s Injury Prevention team. She received her BSN from Oakland University and has spent most of her nursing career working in Emergency Medicine. Her passion for emergency medicine grew in a fast-paced environment taking care and stabilizing acutely ill patients with a variety of different injuries and diseases. She finds it inspiring watching her patients recover and live their lives fully after being in their most vulnerable state.

Michelle Ring, BSN, RN

Michelle is the Trauma Coordinator who also works in collaboration with Henry Ford Health Wyandotte's Injury Prevention Team. She received her BSN from the University of Michigan. Her passion is working with the community to help educate them and prevent one injury at a time.

Lisa Simpson, BSN, RN

Lisa Simpson, BSN, RN
Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital
Lisa is the Trauma Program Manager at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. She received her BSN from Madonna University and has spent most of her nursing career working with injured patients. She enjoys the fast-paced environment and the ability to be part of the acute and recovery phases of their care. Lisa also has a passion for education and has spent many years being a part of nursing education and development.
