Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia in the LGBTQ+ Community

This program provides a general overview for people who are facing a diagnosis as well as those who wish to be informed. Participants will learn the following:

  • The relationship between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  • How the brain is affected by Alzheimer’s
  • Stages and risk factors of the disease
  • Information on Alzheimer's research
  • How the LGBTQ+ community is disproportionately and uniquely affected by dementia

This training is approved for 1.5 regular CE Clock Hours through the Michigan Social Work Education Collaborative and 1.5 nursing CEUS by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
