Fabric Manipulation and Upcycled Fashion

This workshop series invites participants to breathe new life into forgotten textiles through the creative lens of sustainable design and self-expression. Students will master a variety of fabric manipulation techniques—including pleating, layering, and structural stitching—to transform secondhand garments into wearable works of art. By merging traditional craftsmanship with modern upcycling, this course empowers makers to reduce waste while developing a unique, eco-conscious fashion aesthetic. This class will take place at CCS Taubman Center.   Bring gently used garments with you.   Sewing machines and supplies provided.
