Needle Felt Painting/Sculpture
Needle felting is a technique that uses specially notched needles (which have barbs that tangle the wool fibers) to interlock and form firm structures allowing you to create unique textiles & 3-D objects. The textile is created by matting, condensing, and pressing wool fibers together. For 3-D sculptures, piercing the wool using repeated strokes causes the wool fibers to compress, allowing it to be shaped into detailed, soft, yet firm creations like animal figures or art pieces. Wire armatures are often used as reinforcements for 3-D pieces. This activity is the perfect inspiration to create a work of art using your individuality, imagination, and creativity. Please come and join us in a supportive and relaxing environment. The instructor (Lynne Paul) will demonstrate and guide/assist as required. ALL experiences are welcome. All tools and materials are provided.
