Storytime at the Station
Join Michigan Central in partnership Henry Ford Health and the Detroit Pistons for Storytime at The Station — a free, family-friendly reading event that celebrates literacy, wellness, and community connection.
Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of storytelling and surprises as a Detroit Pistons player takes the stage to read a children’s book that encourages imagination, confidence, and curiosity. The program includes time for audience Q&A, a chance to meet the player, and an opportunity to connect with Henry Ford Health pediatric specialists on-site. A special gift from Henry Ford Health will be provided to the first 100 children (one per family).
Henry Ford Health is a proud partner of Reach Out and Read Michigan, a national early literacy organization working directly with pediatric care providers to share the lifelong benefits that result from families reading aloud to their children every day. We kindly ask that attendees bring a new or gently used children's book that will be distributed during well-child visits (from birth through age five) at Henry Ford Health clinics. This event is part of our ongoing partnership to inspire healthy habits and lifelong learning through the power of books, sports, and play.
