Program Description

The advanced endoscopy fellowship program at Henry Ford Hospital is a 1-year fellowship dedicated to advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy. Fellows will develop competence in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), advanced polypectomy techniques (EMR) and endoluminal stenting. There will be opportunities for involvement in interventional EUS (EGDE procedures, cholecystoduodenostomy, EUS guided gastroenterostomy etc.), POEM procedures, endoscopic submucosal dissection, device assisted enteroscopy, endoscopic suturing and bariatric endoscopy procedures based on the interest of the fellow. Graduates of the program will be prepared for successful careers in academic or private practice settings.

Facilities and Resources

The advanced endoscopy fellow performs procedures at Henry Ford Main Campus Hospital. The fellow primarily performs outpatient advanced endoscopy procedures and is not expected to see or staff inpatient consults. The fellow can participate during inpatient advanced endoscopy cases if they desire. Our endoscopy suite has three rooms equipped for fluoroscopy. We use the most current Olympus endoscopes.
