Detroit, Mich., April 18, 2022 – Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care today opened a new center in Livonia, its first in Wayne County. The new center is conveniently located in the heart of Livonia’s retail hub at 29613 West Seven Mile Road, right across the street from Walmart. It is Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care's fourth center to open in 2022, following the opening of the Fraser, Bruce Township and Chesterfield centers in February. This new location is one of 15 Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care centers set to open in the next year.

"Easy access to world-class, affordable healthcare is essential in building thriving communities," said Laurie Dietzel, Market Vice President, Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care. "We are proud to provide Livonia and Metro Detroit with convenient access to urgent care that is directly connected to the vast services, expertise and deep community roots of Henry Ford Health. We look forward to caring for the Livonia area and partnering with the community to ensure the health and safety of its residents."

About the new Livonia center

The new location will offer treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, on-site X-ray services and COVID-19 testing. It will serve the community from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday. Those seeking care can be seen quickly and easily by walking into any Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care center or going online to save a spot and pre-register. In addition to treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, the center will offer sports physicals for kids just in time for summer camps and sports seasons.

GoHealth Urgent Care was the first healthcare company to win the ICSC U.S. Design and Development Award, which honors and recognizes the premier design and development trends of retail projects, new developments, renovation and expansion projects, and retail store design within the U.S. The new Livonia center is the first Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care to showcase GoHealth’s award-winning center design, which includes electrostatic “smart glass” procedure rooms, transparent charting on a wide screen in each exam room and a unified electronic medical record that can be accessed by caregivers across the Henry Ford Health network.

Affordable, world-class urgent care

Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care's new center in Livonia provides the community with a more affordable option for safe and efficient care outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department. It also provides the community with a direct connection to Henry Ford Health's robust network of care, which regularly earns national recognition for excellence in quality and safety, research and innovation.

“The last two years have demonstrated how important it is for communities to have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare,” said Doug Ditri, Henry Ford Health’s Chief Operating Officer of System Ambulatory Operations. “Our partnership with GoHealth provides the Metro Detroit with on-demand urgent care services that are not only convenient but are also connected to the patient’s overall health and wellness journey. By opening the Livonia location and future urgent care centers, we are taking steps to reimagine our commitment to the health of our communities.”

Example of Henry Ford Health’s brand evolution

The opening of Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care’s new center in Livonia comes just one month after Henry Ford Health unveiled its evolved brand, which eliminated the word “system” to emphasize the word “health” and its devotion to partnering with patients, communities and its workforce along the entire health journey. Henry Ford Health’s partnership with GoHealth and its growing network of centers highlights one way the healthcare provider will transform the way it improves the health of the region.

In addition to providing a new healthcare option for the Detroit area, Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care’s new center in Livonia also provides up to 16 jobs for health professionals.
