A Statement About Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital's Trauma Designation

Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital is again designated as a Level II trauma center following a successful appeal to the American College of Surgeons. We appreciate the ACS’s prompt review and decision to rescind its initial findings, confirming that Southfield has continued to provide compliant trauma care.

Our trauma team’s commitment to high-quality, lifesaving care never wavered. Throughout the appeal, we continued treating patients with severe injuries, including gunshot wounds and injuries from motor vehicle accidents. The trauma center redesignation allows ambulances to immediately resume transporting patients with severe trauma to our hospital.

We remain committed to the high standards of care the greater Southfield community expects.
