Care Philosophy
Dr. Dekker understands that a "one size fits all" approach does not always apply when it comes to patient care. Rather, he strives to partner with his patients to develop individualized treatment plans based upon their specifics needs, goals and expectations. He focuses on combining excellent bedside care with evidence-based treatment for foot & ankle conditions, whether common or complex. While most foot and ankle issues can be successfully managed with non-surgical options like bracing, orthotics, physical therapy, or injections, surgery is sometimes necessary. He utilizes advanced surgical techniques and rehabilitation to give his patients the quickest return to the activities and best possible outcome.
Research Interests
Dr. Dekker has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning a wide range of foot and ankle topics, including ankle arthritis, minimally invasive Achilles tendon rupture repair, and outcomes and safety after ankle fracture surgery. He has also presented his research at national symposiums.
