About Me

Biographical Statement

Abdelkhalek Elagamy is a pediatrician with Henry Ford Health. Prior to joining Henry Ford, he has several years of experience in hospital based pediatric clinics in Ohio as well as private pediatric practices in Metro Detroit. He completed a pediatric residency at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI along with medical school at Kansas City University in Kansas City, MO. One of his clinical areas of interest is newborn and infant best feeding practices for each patient to optimize growth and development. Another clinical area of interest is autism spectrum disorder care coordination to provide the best medical and educational opportunities for patients with autism spectrum disorder.

Care Philosophy

My care philosophy is to always place my patients and their families first. I accomplish this by reserving time at each appointment to address all concerns that each parent/guardian may have. This allows me to fully provide the best patient and family centered care at the highest level from evidence-based research. Open communication with my patients as well as their families - whether in the clinic, by phone, or with MyChart messaging-is essential for me to provide excellent care at every visit.

Research Interest

Safe sleep practices in infancy, specifically at the local and state levels, to help provide every infant with a safe sleep environment.
