Being a pediatrician is truly the most rewarding. I get to teach, diagnose, treat and help grow the future leaders of the world. There is a big push on preventing rather than treating medical problems, like obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure, and starting with the child is the key. While I am proficient in taking care of all pediatric sick and well visits, I also have a special interest in newborns, NICU graduates and asthma/eczema/allergies. Visiting the doctor is often stressful for children and it is in my nature to help put them at ease and make the visit less scary.
Eczema is a common skin condition that often affects many kids, and the colder months tend to be when symptoms are at their worst. A pediatrician offers advice for treating symptoms and preventing flare-ups.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus, or RSV, is common virus that can be one of many causes of the common cold. It is especially dangerous for infants and small children because their small airways can easily become blocked with mucus.
