About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Fitzgerald has lived in Michigan for her entire life. She grew up in the suburbs of downriver, specifically the city of Taylor. At a young age, she was diagnosed with unilateral hearing loss. This allowed her to see the field of audiology as a patient herself for the majority of her life, peaking her interest in the area.
Following high school, Dr. Fitzgerald attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate education and Wayne State University for her graduate degree. Throughout her educational experience, she received direction and training in each audiology specialty and hands-on experience in varied clinical settings. Her time at both universities allowed her to gain additional perspective with people from different demographics and cultures.
Dr. Fitzgerald’s one year fellowship was completed at Henry Ford Health, where she completed training in nearly all specialties of audiology. She focused her training specifically in the areas of diagnostics (for all ages), hearing aids, electrophysiology, and implantable technologies. Following her graduation, she remained with Henry Ford as a senior staff audiologist working in the downriver area.
Care Philosophy
My goal is to restore each patient’s ability to communicate effectively and hear the world around them, using evidence based practices. I have special interests in diagnostics and treatment with implantable technology.
