About Me

Biographical Statement

Jeanne Kurmas is a licensed, master's prepared clinical social worker and has been working in the behavioral health field for more than 20 years. She became interested in behavioral health because she saw the value in empowering others to develop skills to become their most authentic self. She is passionate about helping others in to realize their full potential.

Jeanne helps her patients gain self-esteem and confidence to reframe negative or anxious thinking, forgive self and/or others, and recognize what is, and is not, in our control. With compassion and empathy, Jeanne helps her patients build effective coping skills, set healthy boundaries, implement positive lifestyle choices, and improve decision-making strategies. She received her MSW from Wayne State University in Detroit.

Care Philosophy

"I value the connection and trust needed for a therapeutic relationship to be comfortable, successful and productive. My goal is to create a supportive environment for patients so they feel safe to share honestly, while offering understanding and opportunities of growth, empowerment, and skill attainment. We’ll work together to identify the causes of beliefs and patterns of behavior to challenge and replace them."
