Biographical Statement
John LaMacchia, MD, FACS, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in advanced diagnosis and treatment of back and neck conditions. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and went on to receive his medical degree from Wayne State University. Dr. LaMacchia completed his residency at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center, where he developed extensive expertise in complex orthopaedic trauma. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in spine surgery, completing a rigorous spine surgery fellowship in both Kentucky and Detroit.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. LaMacchia remains dedicated to providing his patients with the highest level of care. He provides comprehensive care for herniated discs, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, sciatic, and chronic spine pain. Known for his meticulous surgical techniques and commitment to excellence, Dr. LaMacchia has received recognition and awards for his advancement to orthopedic procedures and innovation. His expertise includes minimally/less invasive spine surgery, cervical and lumbar procedures, spinal fusion, artificial disc replacement, microdiscectomy, and non-surgical options when appropriate. He continues to combine advanced surgical skills with a patient-centered approach to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
