Kian Setayesh, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Setayesh graduated from Boston University College of Engineering with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and also obtained a master’s degree in medical science. He attended medical school at Tulane University and completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Orthopaedic Surgery.

During his sports medicine fellowship at Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute, he worked with many athletes including members of the New Orleans Pelicans, New Orleans Saints, Dillard University, the University of New Orleans and many local high schools. He started a private practice in Frisco, Texas where he was named a Top Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Care Philosophy

I try to approach each visit with a patient as if I were the patient. I provide all options to help the patient make the decision that's best for them and their goals. I give honest opinions if I think something will work for the patient and I try to avoid complex medical terminology.

Research Interests

Dr. Setayesh is passionate about research in rotator cuff pathology, anterior cruciate ligament injuries, cartilage regeneration and OrthoBiologics.
