Hybrid reconstruction combines a flap procedure with an implant.
During a hybrid breast flap reconstruction, we harvest tissue from your body and transplant this to create your new breast mound, replacing the tissue that we remove during a mastectomy. Then we add an implant to achieve your desired breast size. Given that your own tissue provides much of the volume needed to reconstruct your breast, this implant is often smaller than ones used in standalone implant procedures.
