Male Pattern Baldness

Male Pattern Baldness Is No Longer Inevitable

Age-related genetic hair loss, or alopecia, is the most common type of hair loss affecting up to 80% of men in their lifetime. Fortunately, what was previously accepted as inevitable for most men is now easily treated.

Here at Henry Ford, we offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to treat male-pattern baldness while allowing you to recapture your self-confidence and natural hair. PRP is a revolutionary solution to male-pattern baldness and other forms of hair loss. The treatment is simple, feasible, cost-effective and has been met with high overall patient satisfaction.

What is PRP treatment?

During treatment, your own blood is used to stimulate and encourage natural hair growth. After being drawn, your blood is placed into a centrifuge in order to separate the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma. The plasma is then directly injected into your scalp at the level of the hair follicles.

What are platelets?

When it comes to healing your body, platelet cells are the first responders for wounds. Platelets are full of numerous growth factors that are designed to stimulate your body’s own repair mechanisms. Once these cells are collected, areas of hair loss are targeted for injection in order to stimulate hair growth.

Where is the treatment done and how long does it take?

Because the treatment is easily done in the office with no downtime and patients have almost no restrictions afterwards.
