Donations

While our Division continues to obtain government and public sources of funding for our education and research activities, these sources are continually declining, and the role of private funding sources has become increasingly critical to us. We would not be able to do all that we do without the generosity of others who support our mission for advancing clinical care, research, and education. Our staff is grateful for the many charitable gifts that benefit our programs and our patients.

Charitable gift areas

Areas for ongoing support include the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Education and Research Fund as well as specialty research programs within the Division. The Division’s education and research fund is used to support senior staff and resident physicians by providing funds to:

  • Pursue professional, academic, and leadership development
  • Continued medical education
  • Purchase of research equipment
  • Bridge funds to support research studies for clinician-investigators
  • Resources to pursue global health initiatives

The Dr. Cynthia D. Ray Patient Rescue Fund

Established in memory of Dr. Ray, a national leader in interventional pulmonology who tragically lost her life as a Good Samaritan tending to others at an auto accident. The fund provides patients with financial help for transportation, meals, medications and incidentals that might not otherwise be available through insurance or personal resources
