Dear Applicants,

Thank you for your interest in the OB/GYN Residency Program at Henry Ford Hospital! Henry Ford Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts application only from ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Your Dean's office will inform you of the necessary steps and provide you with the hardware/software to prepare this application. Residency Application Requirements(all transmitted by ERAS)

Residency Application Requirements

  1. Completed ERAS Application
  2. Minimum of three ERAS-transmitted letters of recommendation (in addition to the Dean’s letter), one may be the Standardized Letter of Evaluation (SLOE), one letter from an OB/GYN, one additional letter of recommendation
  3. Personal Statement
  4. Medical School Transcript, including MSPE
  5. Curriculum Vitae (CV generated through ERAS)
  6. USMLE Step 1 score. Number of pass attempts (1)
  7. USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) score must be available at time of interview. USMLE numeric score of >215 is suggested and number of attempts (1)
  8. If you are selected to interview, we do require that you have your USMLE Clinical Skills (CS) test scheduled by date of interview
  9. For D.O. applicants, we require USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores
  10. OTE: When listing publications, please make sure to include the PMID number.

Application Information for International Medical Graduates

  1. In addition to above Residency Application Requirements, graduates of international medical schools must also meet these requirements.
  2. Completed ERAS Application
  3. USMLE Step 1 score. Number of pass attempts (1)
  4. USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) score must be available at time of interview. USMLE numeric score of >215 is suggested and number of attempts (1)
  5. U.S. clinical experience is suggested
  6. Applicant must have graduated from medical school within 3 years, unless you have completed a prior residency
  7. ECFMG certification at time of application is required (by November 1st). Please review the ECFMG requirements
  8. We sponsor only J-1 visas. We do not sponsor H1-B visas
  9. We do not offer pre-match

Hospital policies:

  • No Smoking: Henry Ford Health will no longer enroll/hire residents and fellows who use products containing nicotine. The nicotine test will be administered as part of the pre-employment health screen. Testing positive is a failure to meet the conditions of employment and considered a violation of the Henry Ford Health employment contract and match agreement. Applicants who test positive for nicotine will not be allowed to start their program. They may be re-tested in 90 days, but programs will not be obligated to hold the position for the applicant.
  • Flu Shots: Henry Ford employees who work in clinical and non-clinical positions are required to receive an annual flu vaccination. This applies to all residents and fellows, as well as physicians, nurses, students, transporters, volunteers, housekeepers, clerical, lab and dietary staff and employees in non-clinical positions. Employees may only decline vaccination if they provide documentation of an acceptable medical or religious reason.
