Other Educational Activities

Procedural Simulations: Utilizing the "Sim center" for various procedural simulations, including Lumbar Puncture, Arthrocentesis, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis and Central Line placement.

Institutional Curriculum: Communication exercise with simulated patients, to teach residents the importance of proper communication skills during a patient encounter. Current modules cover Error Disclosure, Transitions of Care, Informed Consent and Teachback, and Breaking Bad News.

Quality Improvement: Residents will have Quality Improvement didactics and access to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) modules and more advanced modules for those that have completed IHI modules in medical school.
