Transitional Year Rotations
Our yearly schedule is designed to satisfy all ACGME requirements for Transitional Year and your future specialty. The rotation schedule is based on a thirteen, 28-day blocks. Rotation sites for all Inpatient rotations, ICUs and EM is Henry Ford Hospital Main Campus.
Anesthesiology-Bound Residents
- 4.5 blocks: Inpatient Internal Medicine (including subspecialty floors)
- 1 block: Emergency Medicine
- 1 block: Ambulatory Clinic
- 2 blocks: ICU Selective
- 4.5 blocks: Electives
Neurology-Bound Residents
- 5.5 blocks: Inpatient Internal Medicine (including subspecialty floors)
- 2 blocks: Emergency Medicine
- 1 block: Ambulatory Clinic
- 4.5 block: Electives
Radiology-Bound Residents
- 4.5 blocks: Inpatient Internal Medicine (including subspecialty floors)
- 2 blocks: Emergency Medicine
- 1 block: Ambulatory Clinic
- 1 block: ICU Selective
- 4.5 blocks: Electives
Other Specialties (Dermatology, Ophthalmology*, Radiation Oncology, etc.)
- 4.5 blocks: Inpatient Internal Medicine (including subspecialty floors)
- 2 blocks: Emergency Medicine
- 1 block: Ambulatory Clinic
- 5.5 blocks: Electives*
* For residents who are staying at Henry Ford for their Ophthalmology training, your electives will be turned into a longitudinal track incorporating 2 blocks of Ophthalmology, 1 block of Neuro-Ophthalmology, 1 block of Ophthalmology Research and an additional 1.5 blocks of elective.
