Joie Linn Nelson became vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in 2026 after serving as interim chief nursing officer.
She previously served as nursing administrator for patient care services, providing leadership across a broad range of clinical areas and helping advance quality, patient safety, nursing excellence, patient experience and team-member engagement.
Joie Linn has served the Jackson hospital and community for more than 25 years. She began her career as a unit secretary back in 2000 while in college. She then began her nursing career as an emergency department registered nurse in 2004 and subsequently served as emergency department supervisor, clinical nurse manager, director of nursing and nursing administrator before becoming chief nursing officer.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Nursing from Baker College and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Spring Arbor University.
