Syed Ahmed Hussain, MD, became chief medical officer for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in 2026.

He previously served as senior vice president and regional chief clinical officer for Trinity Health of New England, where he provided executive leadership for clinical strategy, quality improvement, physician alignment and operational excellence.

Dr. Hussain is an accomplished physician executive with extensive experience leading clinical operations, quality, patient safety, physician engagement and strategic initiatives across large integrated health systems. Throughout his career, he has focused on advancing high-quality patient care, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams and supporting physicians and clinical staff in delivering exceptional outcomes.

Before joining Trinity Health of New England, Dr. Hussain served as chief medical officer and held several physician leadership positions within the Detroit Medical Center. He completed his internal medicine residency, chief medical resident year and physician leadership fellowship at Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University.
