HENRY FORD HEALTH SYSTEM APPOINTS NEW MARKET CEO

Oct. 30, 2018 Detroit, MI – Henry Ford Health System has selected a new senior vice president and chief executive officer for its north market in Southeast Michigan. Denise Brooks-Williams will provide strategic leadership and direction for the six-county market, which includes Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, St. Clair, Genesee and Lapeer counties.
Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Brooks-Williams will be responsible for driving revenue, growth and overall market performance across all sites, including Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital and all ambulatory and other operations. Currently, she is serving as president and CEO of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, a position she has held since 2013.

Under Brooks-Williams’ leadership, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital has received numerous quality and patient satisfaction awards, including Healthgrades’ "America’s 100 Best Hospital" three consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report’s "Best Regional Hospital" and the Press Ganey "Guardian of Excellence Award."
She has led numerous process improvements including the successful management of the market shift from inpatient to observation care, while increasing efficiency and decreasing costs. She also successfully led growth in oncology, cardiovascular and orthopedics services, as well as created joint venture relationships with key partners for expansion and growth, including hospice and behavioral health services.

Previously, Brooks-Williams was president and CEO of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, nationally known for patient safety. She has also held leadership positions with St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, including vice president of operations, ambulatory services, strategic business development and physician network, as well as positions at the Detroit Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Detroit.
She has earned numerous professional awards, including the National Association of Health Services Executives’ (NAHSE) President’s Award in 2017, presented annually for outstanding leadership, commitment, performance and service to an organization which helps hospitals and hospital executives better serve diverse populations. A Michigan native, Brooks-Williams has a master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.
As part of the transition, Peter Karadjoff will serve as interim president of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Karadjoff is currently the hospital’s senior vice president and chief operating officer, a position he has held since last year.
