Oct. 30, 2018 Detroit, MI – Henry Ford Health System has selected a new senior vice president and chief executive officer for its north market in Southeast Michigan. Denise Brooks-Williams will provide strategic leadership and direction for the six-county market, which includes Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, St. Clair, Genesee and Lapeer counties.

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Brooks-Williams will be responsible for driving revenue, growth and overall market performance across all sites, including Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital and all ambulatory and other operations. Currently, she is serving as president and CEO of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, a position she has held since 2013.

"We are delighted to welcome Denise into this critical new role in our organization," said Bob Riney, President, Healthcare Operations and Chief Operating Officer, Henry Ford Health System. "As we extend our reach within our northern communities, I am confident that Denise’s passion for strategic planning and process improvements, along with her ability to forge innovative partnerships, will help us expand the dynamic options for the people of those communities."

Under Brooks-Williams’ leadership, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital has received numerous quality and patient satisfaction awards, including Healthgrades’ "America’s 100 Best Hospital" three consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report’s "Best Regional Hospital" and the Press Ganey "Guardian of Excellence Award."

She has led numerous process improvements including the successful management of the market shift from inpatient to observation care, while increasing efficiency and decreasing costs. She also successfully led growth in oncology, cardiovascular and orthopedics services, as well as created joint venture relationships with key partners for expansion and growth, including hospice and behavioral health services.

"We are creating something truly unique in this region," said Brooks-Williams. "Our patients and members have asked for more high quality healthcare options, closer to home. We not only intend to meet that need, we are poised to boldly reorganize ourselves in order to exceed those expectations, creating a dependable, convenient, seamless experience for all of our patients and their families."

Previously, Brooks-Williams was president and CEO of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, nationally known for patient safety. She has also held leadership positions with St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, including vice president of operations, ambulatory services, strategic business development and physician network, as well as positions at the Detroit Medical Center and Mercy Hospital in Detroit.
