LIVONIA, Mich.-- Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care opened a second location in Livonia today at 29531 Plymouth Road, in the Target-Walmart shopping complex. The new location is the second Henry Ford-GoHealth center serving the Livonia community and among 15 new centers opening throughout the year.

“Convenient access to affordable healthcare is critical for building thriving communities,” said Laurie Dietzel, Market Vice President, Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care. “With our second center in Livonia, we are thrilled to expand access to on-demand, high-quality care for individuals and families who live and work in Wayne County, when and where they need it. We look forward to further expanding our partnership with Henry Ford Health across Metro Detroit.”

The new Livonia center, named Wonderland Village, is located along the bustling Plymouth Road retail corridor, between Verizon and Chili’s. The location was formerly Healthy Urgent Care, which permanently closed on December 14. It reopens today as Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care in the same space. The center has been updated to reflect Henry Ford-GoHealth's award-winning center design, featuring wood accents, curved surfaces and customer-friendly technology that create a uniquely comfortable environment.

The new Wonderland Village location is the second Henry Ford-GoHealth center to open in Livonia and the 10th center to open in Metro Detroit. The first Livonia center opened in April 2022 at 29613 West Seven Mile Road, about 4.5 miles north of the new location. In all, Henry Ford-GoHealth centers have opened in Bloomfield Hills, Bruce Township, Chesterfield, Clinton Township, Dearborn Heights, Fraser, Livonia (two locations), Southgate and West Bloomfield. Additional centers are expected to open in Berkley, St. Clair Shores, Taylor, Southfield and Canton in the coming months.

About the new Wonderland Village center

Henry Ford-GoHealth’s new center in Livonia provides the community with a more affordable option for safe and efficient care outside of higher-cost settings like the emergency department. It also provides individuals and families with a direct connection to Henry Ford Health’s robust network of care, which regularly earns national recognition for excellence in quality, safety, research and innovation.

“Our community has become accustomed to on-demand, seamlessly connected services that are affordable and accessible, including healthcare,” said Doug Ditri, Henry Ford Health’s Chief Operating

Officer of System Ambulatory Operations. “Our partnership provides Metro Detroit with high-quality urgent care services that are convenient, close to home and more affordable than a trip to the emergency department. Every new center makes us more available to our patients where and when they need us."

Like other Henry Ford-GoHealth centers, the new location in Livonia offers treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries and COVID-19 testing. Healthcare providers at Henry Ford-GoHealth can also prescribe and fill COVID-19 oral antiviral treatments if clinically indicated after evaluation. The center is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Customers seeking care can be seen quickly and easily by walking into any Henry Ford-GoHealth center or going online to save a spot and pre-register. In addition to treating non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, the center offers sports physicals for kids and flu vaccines.

Henry Ford Health Expands Access to On-Demand Care

The partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care enables Henry Ford Health to serve new customers who don’t have a Henry Ford Health provider as well as existing patients who need immediate or urgent care outside regular business hours.

“Patients who visit Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care centers and need follow-up care can be conveniently referred to one of our specialists, which makes the care experience seamless,” Ditri said. “Information about anything that happens in our urgent care facilities is easily accessible to our providers during subsequent visits.”

A Unique Healthcare Environment

Henry Ford-GoHealth centers feature an innovative, award-winning design. Widescreen monitors allow patients to follow along as providers update their charts. Unified electronic medical records can be accessed by caregivers across the Henry Ford Health network.

“Our centers were designed with our customers’ wellbeing in mind,” Dietzel said. “From our proprietary consumer-oriented technology to our efficient workflows and our color palette, warm materials and light, our patients experience a sense of ease and healing at every stage of their visit.”

GoHealth Urgent Care was the first healthcare company to win the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) U.S. Design and Development Award. The honor recognizes the premier design and development trends of retail projects, new developments, renovation and expansion projects, and retail store design within the U.S.
