David J Goldman, MD, MBA

Biographical Summary

Dr. Goldman is a nationally recognized ophthalmologist and academic leader whose work sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, education, and innovation in vision science. A Southern California native, he completed his undergraduate/medical training at UCLA, Saba University School of Medicine, and Johns Hopkins University. He serves as a senior staff surgeon and clinician at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he is Vice Chair for Education and Residency Program Director in the Department of Ophthalmology. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was awarded the A.VanElslander/P.Hessburg Chair in Ophthalmology Research. As Director of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, Dr. Goldman helps advance groundbreaking work in artificial vision, fostering collaboration across disciplines to accelerate innovation.
