About Me
Titles:
- Associate Director of Endourology
- Director of Laser Surgery
Biography:
I’m a urologist specializing in kidney stone surgery and prevention, and prostate surgery for men with enlarged prostates or BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). My surgical expertise includes PCNL (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) and ureteroscopy for complex kidney stones, and HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) and Rezum for enlarged prostates. I also perform shock wave lithotripsy for kidney stones, and TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) for enlarged prostates. Each year at Henry Ford, we perform more than 700 kidney stone surgeries and 200 surgeries for enlarged prostates.
I have been very fortunate to train at some of the top medical institutions in the country and alongside some of the world’s leaders and pioneers in PCNL, minimally invasive kidney surgery and HoLEP. I earned my MD degree from the University of Michigan, received my urology residency training at the University of Minnesota, and completed an endourology fellowship at the Smith Institute for Urology where I focused on comprehensive kidney stone care, PCNL and HoLEP.
Care Philosophy:
I strive to provide outstanding, personalized and compassionate care. I am a strong believer that the patient should always come first, and work hard to provide patients with honest and accurate information. I aim to develop individualized treatment plans for each of my patients, and feel that the patient is always the most important person in his or her healthcare experience.Research Interests:
