About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Sharma was born in metro-Detroit and raised on the west side of Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. He then went on to medical school at Michigan State University, spending time in East Lansing and Detroit. He stayed local completing his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Ascension, spending time at Ascension St. John, Providence hospitals, and Macomb-Oakland hospitals. Upon completion of residency, he completed one year of sub-specialization training in joint reconstruction at Northwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. During training, he honed in on various joint replacement techniques including primary hip and knee replacement, revision joint replacement, anterior hip replacement, and robotic joint replacement surgery. Dr. Sharma returned to metro-Detroit to start his practice and be closer to his wife, a pediatrician in the area, and family.
Care Philosophy
I believe in the importance of open communication with patients, focusing on developing a treatment plan unique for each patient. I emphasize conservative treatment options first before discussing surgical interventions. I work to make my patients informed about all available options so they can make educated decisions about their healthcare.
