Cosmetic Hand Wrist and Arm Procedures

Because they’re highly visible, our hands, wrists and arms can give away our age. We offer a broad range of procedures to improve the appearance of your hands, wrists and arms. Cosmetic approaches include:

Arm lift (brachioplasty)

Arm lift surgery corrects sagging on the underside of your upper arm caused by aging, weight fluctuations or genetic predisposition that cannot be corrected through exercise. Our surgeons reduce pockets of fat found in your upper arms and tighten supportive tissue to create more definition.

Laser resurfacing

Lasers direct highly focused wavelengths of light to rejuvenate and repair skin on your hands, wrists and arms. Laser surgery is a safe approach for resurfacing skin, reducing and removing skin discolorations, sun spots, freckles, birthmarks, scars, and warts. Laser treatments may also be used to remove hair from your hands, wrists or arms.

Injectable fillers

Loss of fatty tissue over the years can lead to the appearance of bony hands. Fillers, such as Restylane, Perlane, Sculptra and Juvéderm, create smoother and younger looking hands by helping plump tissue, smooth creases and fill depressions left by scars.

Frequently asked questions

Will I need more than one treatment?

The number of treatments you will need depends on the amount of correction needed. Once the desired correction is achieved, one to two treatments a year will be needed to maintain the improved appearance.

What are the risks?

The risks vary depending on the type of cosmetic surgery you are seeking. Risks for an arm lift are similar to other surgical procedure, such as the potential for bleeding, infection, scar and failure to obtain your desired outcome. You and your cosmetic surgeon will review your medical history to optimize your outcome. Laser resurfacing risks include potential for color change on the treated area, redness or scarring. Potential risks for injectable fillers include injection into a blood vessel, lumpiness and limited longevity. Your surgeon will discuss with you how to limit these risks from your procedure.
