Our Approach

Flexible Engagement Model

PERC has created a unique flexible engagement model (FEM) that meets the needs of diverse stakeholders (patients, families, providers, payers, and industry), across platforms, (Integrated Health Systems, Academic Medical Centers and Community Medical Clinics) to support participation in a multitude of disciplines including clinical care and research, quality improvement, and patient experience work. The four types of Advisor roles are outlined below.

PERC Intake Process

PERC uses a structured intake process to help research teams, clinical departments, and quality improvement groups identify the patient engagement and qualitative research support they need. The process is designed to ensure projects are aligned with team goals, timelines, and available resources.

  • Step 1: Submit an Intake Form
Teams interested in working with PERC begin by completing an online Intake Form. This form helps our team better understand the project, requested services, anticipated timeline, and funding availability before meeting with the requestor.
  • Step 2: Intake Meeting

After the form is submitted, a PERC team member schedules a virtual Intake Meeting. During this meeting, the project team and PERC staff discuss:

    • Project goals and objectives
    • Requested services and support needs
    • Timeline and deliverables
    • Budget considerations and funding source
    • Patient engagement opportunities
    • Participant compensation, if applicable

PERC staff also provide guidance on selecting services that best fit the project’s needs and available resources.

  • Step 3: Project Planning and Approval
Following the Intake Meeting, PERC develops a proposed scope of work and budget options, when applicable. Once the project details are finalized and approved, the project is scheduled to begin.
  • Step 4: Project Launch

Once approved, the PERC team works collaboratively with the requestor to establish timelines, communication plans, milestones, and next steps to support successful project implementation.

Through this process, PERC helps ensure projects receive tailored patient engagement and qualitative research support while creating a clear and collaborative experience for project teams.
