Detroit Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs Joins Henry Ford Health Roster to Celebrate Everyday Wellness Heroes

December 11, 2025

Detroit, Mich. – Detroit Lions superstar Jahmyr Gibbs hit the Detroit Riverwalk alongside Henry Ford Health team members to reward Detroiters for “random acts of health” in a new series of videos debuting today on the health system’s social media channels. From the Riverwalk, Gibbs hopped in a van emblazoned with his face to surprise the Cass Tech High School football team during their playoff run.

It's all part of Detroit-based Henry Ford Health’s new wellness campaign, “Where in the Health is Jahmyr Gibbs?” In the coming months, the all-pro running back and the van will pop up across Southeast Michigan to surprise people who are making healthy choices in their everyday lives. From walking groups on the Riverwalk to families choosing fresh foods at local markets, Detroiters may look up to find Gibbs and the Henry Ford Health wellness team cheering them on – and rewarding them for putting their health first.

“Detroit is full of people working hard every day to take care of themselves, their families and their communities,” Gibbs said. “I’m excited to partner with Henry Ford Health to recognize those efforts and remind everyone that even small healthy choices can make a big difference.”

Some of Gibbs’ and the team’s visits will be pre-planned with community partners, while others will be completely unannounced, adding to the mystery and fun. Detroiters are encouraged to follow Henry Ford Health on social media for clues about the van’s next stop and to share their own wellness wins by tagging @HenryFordHealth on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

“We know health isn’t just what happens in a clinic or hospital – it’s the small choices people make every day,” said Bob Riney, President and CEO, Henry Ford Health. “By joining forces with a superstar like Jahmyr and bringing wellness directly into our neighborhoods, we’re celebrating everyday health heroes and showing that health can be approachable, supportive and even a little bit surprising.”

  • Throughout the campaign, Henry Ford Health clinicians, wellness coaches and community health workers will join the van to offer education and resources on topics such as:
  • Heart health and blood pressure
  • Healthy eating on a budget
  • Mental health support and stress management
  • Physical activity and injury prevention
  • Preventive care and screenings

Gibbs approached the Henry Ford Health team looking for an opportunity to make a difference off the field by serving as a brand ambassador for an organization with deep roots in the community. Now in his third season with the Lions, he has quickly become one of the NFL’s most electric young playmakers, showcasing versatility and big-play ability as both a rusher and receiver out of the backfield.

Prior to adding Gibbs to the Henry Ford Health roster of brand ambassadors, the system partnered with Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on a series of highly successful recruitment and social media videos dubbed “Undercover Amon-Ra.” Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell is the voice of the system’s “We Go For It” campaign.

Henry Ford Health physicians serve as team doctors for all four major professional sports teams in Detroit- the Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings.
