Mission and Aims

Program Mission Statement:

The Diagnostic Radiology Residency program at Henry Ford Hospital is a historic and perennially successful program based at a large urban health system caring for a diverse population of patients. Our residency strikes a unique balance between a high-volume group practice and a sub-specialized academic residency with a commitment to providing innovative educational programs that strengthen and improve the quality of our clinical services and meet the needs of the patients we serve. Our program strives to develop self-directed, professional, and compassionate radiologists whose skills transcend the full spectrum of our specialty with particular focus on clinical skills, leadership, research, and innovation. We aim to prepare residents for careers as academicians or successful private practitioners who can provide expert consultation, support and encourage diversity, and be strong community activists and team builders.
