Nurse Outreach Coordinators
Darlene Herrick, R.N., B.S.N.
Darlene has worked at Henry Ford Health System for more than 30 years, starting as a nephrology and transplant, then NICU Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital. She served an additional 10 years as a community care nurse on the Henry Ford Downriver Team, before transitioning into several ambulatory roles, including RN Coordinator for the Henry Ford Woodhaven and Southland clinics, then returning to the hospital setting as a a Patient Access and Care Coordinator at Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. She is currently Physician Outreach Coordinator at Henry Ford Hospital, where she acts as a liaison to referring physicians and patients to ensure prompt access, communication and evaluation.
Julie Hunter, R.N., B.S.N.
After earning her nursing degree in 1989 from University of Windsor, Julie worked in her home country, Canada, as a home care nurse before venturing to Henry Ford. In 1999, she joined Henry Ford Hospital and worked on various medical and surgical floors for several years, before transitioning into her first administrative role as Assistant Manager on a general practice acute care/trauma floor. She is currently Nurse Outreach Coordinator at Henry Ford Hospital, where she acts as a liaison between external hospitals, physicians and their offices, helping to ensure prompt access for patient referrals, improving collaboration and ensuring coordination of patient care.
Kristin Sexton, R.N., B.S.N.
Kristin has worked at Henry Ford Health System for almost two decades, starting as a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital. For 10 years, she worked in several surgical areas, including serving as Head Charge Nurse in the hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit. In 2008, Sexton was named Assistant Nurse Manager, and she was promoted to Nurse Manager the following year. She is currently RN Outreach Coordinator at Henry Ford Hospital, where she coordinates outreach efforts, organizes CME events, develops marketing strategies and helps coordinates the patient care experience for several programs.
