Readers could submit their votes for the candidates they believed should make the final ranking of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders. A total of 126,200 ballots were cast, more than double in the previous year. As in past years, readers' votes counted for 50 percent of the outcome. The other 50 percent is based on the expert opinions of senior editors at Modern Healthcare.
