Henry Ford Hospital Dermatologist Named Dermatology Chair

DETROIT – David Ozog, M.D., a Mohs surgeon and national expert in procedural and cosmetic dermatology, was named chair of the Department of Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital. He had served as vice chair since 2013.

Dr. Ozog succeeds Henry Lim, M.D., who stepped down as chair in February after 20 years. Dr. Lim is serving as president of the American Academy of Dermatology for 2017-18. Ozog David 16

As chair, Dr. Ozog oversees all administrative, clinical and research functions in dermatology. Dermatology has seven outpatient locations throughout the tri-county area including a Mohs surgical center.

Dr. Ozog, who joined Henry Ford as a senior staff dermatologist in 2004, earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York. He completed his dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, during which he served as chief resident. He also completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and procedural and cosmetic dermatology at UCLA and Moy-Fincher Facial Plastics and Dermatology in Beverly Hills, Calif.

He has published more than 60 articles, primarily in the area of laser treatment of burn scars and scar prevention. He also is an assistant editor for the journals JAMA Dermatology and JAMA Dermatologic Surgery.
