DETROIT, MI – A new landmark for precision medicine officially started to take shape Wednesday, as leaders from Henry Ford Health, BAMF Health and Bedrock broke ground on a 45,000-square-foot downtown facility that will become the home of the region’s first-ever Comprehensive Theranostics Center. The state-of-the-art facility, which will be located within Bedrock’s Gratiot Life Sciences Building, is a joint venture between BAMF Health and Henry Ford Health that will deliver cutting-edge molecular imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and clinical trials to people across the city, state, and beyond.

The groundbreaking ceremony featured remarks from Bedrock CEO Jared Fleisher, BAMF Health Founder and CEO Anthony Chang, Henry Ford Health Chief Physician Executive and President of the Clinical Enterprise Dr. Adnan Munkarah, and Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield. This site is not only an example of Detroit’s resilience and strength but also a catalyst for growth, innovation, and continued investment.

“As longtime leaders in precision medicine, I can confidently say that theranostics is reshaping what is possible for our patients, and this facility embodies the realization of that vision,” said Dr. Munkarah. “We are thrilled to be partnering with BAMF as we expand molecular imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and life-changing clinical research for the people we serve.”

“Theranostics represents a transformative pillar in oncology care and precision medicine,” said Dr. Chang. “At BAMF Health, we are committed to making sure every patient across the country who needs it has access to the highest-quality, affordable theranostic care. Our partnership with Henry Ford Health marks a significant step forward in that mission, while also positioning Michigan and the broader region as a global hub in precision medicine and innovation.”

Dr. Chang and Dr. Munkarah discussed the partnership further in an episode of The BAMF Health Podcast. Located at the corner of Clinton St. and St. Antoine, the Comprehensive Theranostics Center is just steps from Ford Field, Greektown, and Comerica Park. This site will serve as a gateway to Detroit and position the city as a hub for medical tourism and innovation. The facility will also provide job opportunities for clinicians, radiopharmacists, nuclear medicine technologists, and more.

The Comprehensive Theranostics Center is expected to open late 2027. This is BAMF Health’s second theranostics center in Michigan. The company’s first location, which also serves as its headquarters, is located in Grand Rapids.
