Jarrod Johnson assumes role as president of Henry Ford Jackson Hospital

JACKSON, Mich., May 26, 2026 — Jarrod G. Johnson, MBA, FACHE, assumed the role of president of Henry Ford Jackson Hospital today, bringing more than two decades of health care leadership experience to the Jackson campus.
In the role, Johnson will lead the Jackson campus in collaboration with the executive leadership team and oversee the hospital’s operations, strategic planning and performance. He will continue to advance a strong focus on quality and safety while strengthening engagement among patients, team members and physicians to support continued growth and excellence.

Johnson brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience across academic health systems, community hospitals and safety-net organizations. Prior to joining Henry Ford Health, he served in senior leadership roles with UAB Medicine, including chief executive officer of UAB Callahan Hospital and executive vice president of clinical operations for UAB Hospital. During his tenure, he led key operational and strategic initiatives and successfully guided the integration of Callahan Hospital into UAB Hospital.
Previously, Johnson served as market president for UPMC Carlisle and the Cumberland Market within UPMC Central Pennsylvania. He also served as chief operating officer for Cook County Health’s John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and Central Campus, where he oversaw
operations for a flagship Level I trauma center and a broad network of clinical services. Throughout his career, he has led integrated healthcare organizations in diverse markets with experience spanning the continuum of care.

Johnson is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been recognized nationally for his leadership, including being named a “Top Community Hospital CEO to Know” and a “Top Black Healthcare Leader to Know” by Becker’s Healthcare.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lehigh University, a Master of Business Administration from Howard University, and a certificate in Managing Healthcare Delivery from Harvard University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
