Biographical Statement
Kimberly A. Brown, MD, is a transplant hepatologist, gastroenterologist and physician leader at Henry Ford Health. She serves as associate medical director of the Henry Ford Transplant Institute and medical director of Transplant Outreach Services. Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Brown's research focuses on advancing the treatment of liver disease through clinical trials and translational research in hepatology and liver transplantation. Her work investigates novel therapies for chronic liver diseases, viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and the management of patients before and after liver transplantation. She has led and participated in numerous multicenter clinical trials evaluating new medications and treatment strategies designed to improve outcomes for patients with advanced liver disease. In addition to her research, Dr. Brown has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and has played a significant role in advancing the field through national leadership, education and mentorship.
Dr. Brown continues to collaborate with investigators across Henry Ford Health and national transplant and hepatology organizations to expand access to innovative therapies and improve the care of patients with liver disease. Her ongoing work supports the development of evidence-based treatments that enhance outcomes for individuals requiring liver transplantation and other advanced hepatology care.
