About Me
Care Philosophy
Dr. Pack is an advocate of value-based and alternative care delivery models to achieve optimal outcomes. His philosophy is to place the patient at the center of care, listening to and emphasizing their personal goals, while empowering their decisions with evidence-based knowledge. He specializes and has extensive clinical experience in minimally invasive knee and hip replacement, outpatient joint replacement, and accelerated recoveries. Additional clinical interests include complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement, including fractures and infections around hip and knee implants.
Biographical Statement
Dr. Bryan Pack grew up in rural Kingsley in Northern Michigan, the son of a self-employed custom furniture and cabinet maker and a public librarian. He attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he completed the honors program in Cell & Molecular Biology, studying in the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory. He earned a scholarship while playing in the Michigan Marching Band and was a member of the honorary music fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi.
He obtained his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he was awarded membership in the honorary service organization, the Aesculapians.
He completed an internship in orthopaedic surgery at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University, followed by residency in the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Partners Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program (now the Corewell Health/Michigan State University Orthopaedic Surgery Residency). Dr. Pack then moved to Chicago to complete an Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction fellowship in the prestigious Rush University Medical Center/Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush program, then one of the top 5 orthopaedic programs in the nation, where he received advanced training from pioneers in minimally invasive knee and hip replacement, as well as complex primary and revision joint replacement.
After fellowship, he returned as faculty in Grand Rapids, also becoming involved in various quality projects, including the Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative (MARCQI), in which he still serves on the Executive Committee. Having served in various capacities within Trinity Health over the course of 9 years, Dr. Pack moved to Southeast Michigan during the COVID pandemic, helping establish a novel orthopaedic satellite as part of Trinity IHA in Livonia, where he was Chair of the Orthopaedic Department. After 5 years in that program, he joined the exceptional team at Henry Ford Orthopedics, hoping to complement and advance their tradition of excellence.
Dr. Pack enjoys time with his family, being involved with church, traveling, history, music, landscaping, most things outdoors, and random trivia.
