The Henry Ford Human Performance Clinic, in collaboration with the Henry Ford Center for Athletic Medicine, offers a comprehensive cardiovascular screening and performance evaluation that is optimal for elite/competitive athletes, recreational exercisers, and weekend warriors alike. During your assessment at the Human Performance Clinic we will determine your maximum aerobic capacity, anaerobic threshold, and body composition. Based on your current training habits, training recommendations will be provided to achieve your performance goals. Risk for cardiovascular disease will also be assessed. The appointment will take place at the Henry Ford Center for Athletic Medicine, conveniently located in the heart of midtown Detroit.

The evaluation includes:

  • Cardiovascular screening examination
  • Maximal exercise test with electrocardiogram to monitor your heart’s activity
    • Maximum aerobic capacity (VO2max)
    • Anaerobic threshold
  • Body composition analysis
    • Resting metabolic rate
    • Body fat percentage
    • Lean body mass
  • Consultation with clinical exercise physiologist
    • Training recommendations and heart rate training zones based on test results
    • Goal specific counseling
