Requirements

Weight-loss procedures are not right for everyone. For your long-term success, it is important to first make sure you are physically qualified and emotionally ready to take this life-changing step. Your weight-loss team will provide the following assessments.

Clinical evaluation – To ensure you:

  • Are 18 or older.
  • Have a Body Mass Index of 30 or more..
  • Are willing to participate in a medically supervised weight-loss program.
  • Index endoscopy – A test to rule out any problems in your digestive tract.
  • Dietary evaluation – To provide an idea of what and how you are currently eating, as well as your understanding of nutritional needs.
  • Psychological evaluation – To ensure you fully understand the benefits and risks, are committed to making healthy changes and have realistic expectations for results.
  • Physician meeting – An opportunity to have additional questions answered and schedule your procedure.
