Henry Ford Hospital Physician Elected President of Dermatology Association

DETROIT – Henry W. Lim, M.D., chair of the Department of Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital, was elected president of the American Dermatological Association, the oldest national dermatological society in the United States.

Dr. Lim will serve for one year as president of the ADA, a voluntary, non-profit organization that promotes the study and science of dermatology. Its inaugural meeting was held in Niagara Falls, NY in 1877.

Dr. Lim is the third Henry Ford dermatologist to serve in the ADA’s top leadership position. The late Clarence Livingood, M.D., and the late Edward Krull, M.D., also served as ADA president.

An active member of the dermatology community, Dr. Lim is board certified in dermatology. He obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York in Brooklyn, and completed his dermatology training at the New York University School of Medicine in New York.

He is an internationally recognized expert in dermatology, and his clinical interests include vitiligo, phototherapy, photosensitivity, photoprotection and psoriasis. Dr. Lim has authored more than 350 articles and edited five textbooks.
