DETROIT — Henry Ford Health’s brand-new advertising campaign highlights the integral roles research and innovation play in improving patient care. Known as Science for the Win, the campaign showcases the health system’s deep and meaningful legacy of leadership in advanced clinical care.

“Every day across Henry Ford Health, we see what is possible when curiosity, innovation and clinical excellence come together,” said Dr. Adnan Munkarah, President, Clinical Enterprise & Chief Physician Executive at Henry Ford Health. “Everything we do — from compassionate bedside care to the discoveries that shape the future of medicine — is grounded in science.”

From the organization’s inception, scientific discovery and innovation have been at the core of its DNA. Science for the Win both celebrates that long history and brings us to current day, where Henry Ford Health is leading the way with accomplishments including performing Michigan’s first-ever “beating heart transplant,” creating remote ultrasound technology used by NASA, conducting more than 3,000 active research studies and partnering with research powerhouse Michigan State University to create a one-of-its-kind brick and mortar research center in the heart of Detroit.

Science for the Win includes print, digital, radio and outdoor advertising in local, regional and national media — with the radio content voiced by former WDIV-TV anchor and respected journalist Devin Scillian. Its storytelling focuses on the people, partnerships and scientific advances behind Henry Ford Health’s work, with the goal of making complex medical innovations relatable and easy to understand.

“In health care, science matters most when it improves lives,” said Heather Geisler, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Experience Officer at Henry Ford Health. “This campaign gives us an opportunity to tell that story in a way that is clear, compelling and true to who we are.”

The campaign features a series of distinctive visuals created by acclaimed graphic artist and illustrator Noma Bar, highlighting the expertise and dedication of Henry Ford Health team members whose work helps bring new discoveries, treatments and care models to patients.

Bar’s minimalist designs have been described as “deceptively simple.” Viewers will find double meaning hidden in images that tell of some of the most compelling innovations to come out of Henry Ford Health. From an astronaut helmet that incorporates a stethoscope — a nod to our work with NASA — to creatively integrating a heart and headphones into an ad about innovative transplants in the Motor City, the campaign images are thought provoking and unique.

Science for the Win was created in partnership with Henry Ford Health’s agency of record, Campbell Ewald.
