Biographical Statement

Dr. Reena Salgia is a board-certified physician in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. She is the medical director of the liver cancer clinic, and the program director for the gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowship. Dr. Salgia specializes in hepatology with an interest in liver disease, liver cancer, liver transplant, hepatocellular carcinoma, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, cholestatic liver diseases and fatty liver disease. 

Care Philosophy

“It is my priority and desire to always put the patient first, delivering high-quality and knowledgeable care. As a hepatologist, focusing on the care of patients before and after liver transplant, and with a special focus in hepatocellular (liver) cancer, I believe that compassionate care is at the core of ensuring the best outcome for my patient and their family. Throughout my education and career, I have valued evidence-based medicine, and I try to offer my patients the very best of what is available in the field and promise to always stay relevant and up to date. Lastly, I covet the relationship between a physician and their patient, and the sacredness of this trusted relationship, and will never forget the responsibility that comes with this role. “
