How to Become a Primary Care Patient
Your first step toward good health is to have a primary care doctor who you can trust and is close to home. You see your primary care doctor for regular check-ups, screenings and immunizations, and also when you are not feeling well or need to be referred to a specialist.
Your primary care doctor also works with you to manage chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. If you have a condition that requires a specialist, your primary care doctor can help you arrange an appointment with the type of specialist you need.

How to reach your primary care doctor
During office hours
When you need to schedule a routine check-up, talk to your doctor or renew a prescription, call your provider’s office directly. You may not be able to speak to your doctor at that time, but your message will be given to the doctor and he or she will respond within 48 hours.
If you are a MyChart user or have another patient portal, log in and send a secure message to your doctor regarding any health or medication needs. We will answer your message within 24 hours.
