Between busy schedules, illnesses and injuries, you might not be able to get into the doctor’s office when you need care. That’s why we offer Henry Ford Video Visits On Demand.

Video Visits On Demand is a convenient way to connect online with a Henry Ford, board-certified, doctor right from your smartphone, tablet or computer with a web camera. It all begins through your MyChart account.

Video Visits On Demand are a convenient way to reach a Henry Ford doctor:

  • 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year
  • For any patient 1 year old or older
  • A majority of insurance plans cover the cost of a video visit, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • If your insurance does not cover the cost, you will be billed $49

How do I start a Video Visit On Demand?

All Video Visits are conducted through your Henry Ford MyChart account. You can use any device with a web-enabled camera for a video visit, including a laptop or desktop computer, smartphone, tablet or iOS device.

What if I need a prescription?

Henry Ford Pharmacy Advantage offers free, convenient delivery. If the doctor prescribes medication for you during your video visit, you can have your prescription delivered to your home or office for free, the same day, when using a Henry Ford Pharmacy. Just tell the doctor you wish to use this service.

How do Video Visits On Demand work?

Video Visits On Demand are for immediate care only, not scheduled virtual visits with a primary care provider or specialist. Our providers are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. You must have an internet-connected device with a working webcam and microphone in order to use Video Visits On Demand. The service is optimized for use with smartphones and tablets (both Android and Apple devices).

We will automatically log your notes from your Video Visit On Demand in your MyChart account under the “Past Appointments” section. Your doctor can use this information to determine if you need additional care or treatment. The audio and video from the visit is not recorded.

Some exclusions apply:

  • Video visits are not for medical emergencies. In case of an emergency, call 911.
  • If you are driving during a video visit, your doctor will end the visit immediately for your safety.
  • Video visits are available for patients located in the state of Michigan only at this time.
