HAP has enlisted 73-year old Ernie Clark to huddle up and motivate its "seasoned" members to stay active and enjoy life to the fullest. This program utilizes a chair for easy and effective fitness training. The program is open to any adult and takes place at Recreation Centers throughout southeast Michigan. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring two hand weights (between two and five pounds), or two unopened water bottles. Visit the website or call for class locations and times.
The Center for Senior Independence provides an alternative to nursing-home care for frail, elderly people. By bringing together all the care needed, participants are able to remain independent in their own homes and communities. Patients and their caregivers also are provided respite care. The comprehensive care, both medical and social, is provided at the center and the elder's home, as well as in the hospital or nursing home, when necessary. Please call for information on eligibility.
